“Above the Fold” is an old newspaper term to describe the area of the newspaper that appeared above the fold when the newspaper was folded in half – the most important stories could be found here. Now, we use it to describe the area of a web page that first appears on your screen without the need to scroll. When designing your landing page, put everything of importance in this area – do not make your visitors have to scroll to find what you want them to do – put it right there in front of them. Doing this will generally increase the number of people who opt in from your landing page.
